Fresh Lime Slaw

Happy 4th of July! After hosting a party featuring our lime slaw and doing a segment on Daytime Tri-cities featuring it...we've had a few requests for the recipe. I use this slaw with my fish tacos. I got the inspiration for the dish after visiting Kayak Kafe in Savannah, GA.

Fresh Lime Slaw
Super...Super...Simple!

1 Bag of slaw mix with carrots & red cabbage
Juice of 1 lime
Cracked black pepper
2 Tablespoons Canola oil
1/2 teaspoon to 1 teaspoon Smoky Brining Blend by Victoria Gourmet**
Salt & sugar to taste

Just before serving...in a large bowl add slaw mix and drizzle lime juice and oil over cabbage. Then sprinkle brining blend over slaw and toss well. You can add additional salt and sugar to taste.
Serve immediately.

Variations:
-Add 2 Tablespoons of chopped cilantro and 2 bunches of chopped scallions. (This is the Daytime recipe.)

-Add 2 teaspoons of gluten free soy sauce to the dressing for an Asian Slaw.

**Substitutions for Brining Blend:
1. Add 3/4 teaspoon of raw sugar, 1/4 sea salt, 1/4 teaspoon ground chipotle powder and 3 or 4 drops of liquid smoke (optional).

2. Add 3/4 teaspoon of raw sugar, 1/4 sea salt, 1/4 blackening seasoning and 3 or 4 drops of liquid smoke (optional).
