Need a quick bite to eat? Petro’s Chili & Chips is a fast food chain located in Tennessee and Georgia. I've had the opportunity to eat several times at the Petro’s, Johnson City, TN location.

Typically,
when I go to a mall there aren’t any options for me to eat…especially in the
food court. In the Fort Henry Mall, I
can shop till I drop and then head over to the food court, just like everyone
else! Petro’s has several gluten free
options. The Original Petro is
served in a cup style bowl. The Original Petro starts with corn chips, and then it’s topped with chili, cheese,
sour cream, green onions and your choice of black olives or jalapeno peppers.

I typically get the small size but honestly, I could eat a medium and sometimes
do. Their menu has been updated and now offers several gluten free items
including nachos and giant stuff potatoes.
One of the best parts of Petro’s
besides that fact that it’s super quick…is Petro’s marks all of their gluten free
items with a big “GF.” That way there is no question what’s safe for us
gluten free people. I’m also a fan of Queso dip and having enjoyed the Cheesy Queso Petro and tortilla chips with Queso side item, for a quick snack.
Here are a couple tips: Last
week our business was chosen a “business of the day.” We were treated on that day, to a free small Petro. So, if you’re
in the food court, drop in your business card…you never know what might happen!

Also they have a
tv screen on the wall, right under their menu. Sometimes they offer special
deals on the screen and all you have to do is ask for them. That’s how I got
free chips and Queso with my order one day. Just got to love it!! So, the next
time you need something quick in a pinch, you might just want to check them out.
